Investigation Leads To One Of The Largest Drug Busts In Recent Whitfield County History

PRESS RELEASE – Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives seized 201 grams of Fentanyl, 3,060 grams of Marijuana, 39 grams of Methamphetamine, and 28 grams of Cocaine during the arrest of Alan Sias.
On July 15, 2025, Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives conducted an undercover drug operation.
This month-long investigation resulted in one of the largest drug busts in recent Whitfield County history, with the following drug seizures: 201 grams of Fentanyl, 3,060 grams of Marijuana, 39 grams of Methamphetamine, and 28 grams of Cocaine.
The investigation also led to the arrest of a known gang member, Alan Sias.
Mr. Sias is being charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine
- Possession of Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
- Trafficking in Opium or a Derivative (Fentanyl)
- Possession and Use of Drug-Related Objects
- Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime
- Sale of Marijuana
Sheriff Darren J. Pierce explains in a video posted by the agency that “this amount of Fentanyl is enough to kill over 100,000 people.” He also stated, “If you deal drugs in Whitfield County, you will be arrested.” Sheriff Pierce emphasized the importance of removing these illegal narcotics from the streets, as they can end up in the hands of our loved ones and children.
