WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. – On Jan. 25, Whitfield County 911 dispatch announced the tragic news that one of their own had been in a fatal accident.
Haley Cunningham, 28, was involved in a multi-car cash while she was traveling north on 1-75, near Mile Marker 318.
According to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office the crash happened at approximately 3:50 a.m. the morning of Jan. 25 while Cunningham was driving a silver Kia Forte.
“Ms. Cunningham lost control of her vehicle and struck the center median guardrail before coming to a final rest in the center lane of I-75 Northbound, with her vehicle disabled and facing a southwest direction. Ms. Cunningham’s vehicle was then struck by two tractor trailers in the center lane. Ms. Cunningham succumbed to her injuries on scene. The next-of-kin has been notified. The driver and passenger of the overturned tractor trailer were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” according to a statement from GSP.
The Whitfield County E-911 released the following statement:
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Whitfield County 911 employee, Haley Cunningham. Haley passed away earlier this morning. She had been a valued member on our team and will be missed.
